Chapter 3 What a Handsome Man!

The clothes brought by the maid were a white dress and clean underwear.

Mary Miller entered the bathroom with the clothes in her hand.

The maid then tidied up the bedding and noticed that there were bloodstains upon the sheet.

Mary scrubbed her body, trying to get rid of the purple marks left by what had happened last night. She clenched her fists and gritted her teeth. "Mia Wood!"

The day before, she volunteered to help at her elder cousin's birthday party. However, her younger cousin Mia drugged her and then brought her to Eric Carter, who wanted to rape her. Given no other choice, she had to jump out of the window and into the sea.

She kept swimming in the water until she met a god-like man to whom she lost her virginity.

At the thought of the happenings, Mary sobbed while showering.

When she got out of the bathroom, the maid was gone. In the white dress, the woman timidly left the room.

On her way to the deck, she had not seen anyone.

The cruise ship was traveling on the boundless sea, and the surface looked like blue gems under the morning sunshine.

Standing in front of the guardrail and letting the breeze blow upon her, Mary felt her heart was turning from being overcast to sunny.

She suddenly heard approaching footsteps, swiftly turned her head, and saw Mike Johnson, whose eyes were dark and deep.

What a handsome man.

He was wearing a knee-length, black trench coat, giving off an extraordinary, handsome yet somewhat standoffish vibe like a prince in those fairy tales.

Mary was slightly stunned by his handsomeness. Upon seeing the hemline of his coat, she recalled how she volunteered to seduce him last night.

The woman's face blushed all over, and she made a deep bow to him, saying, "Thanks. Thanks for having saved me."

She knew she could not blame the man for taking her chastity as she was the one who had taken the initiative.

Hank Cook, who was standing next to Mike, let out a smile at the woman and said, "You're welcome, Miss, and may we have your name, please?"

"My name is Mary Miller."

"Mary Miller," Mike repeated the woman's name, scanning her up and down and letting out a faint smile.

The white dress the woman was wearing set off her elegance perfectly. Her black hair was slightly curly, and her figure was slender, looking like a mermaid.

Mike's smile deepened while looking up and down at the mermaid-like woman.

The man continued asking, "What's your father's name?"

The woman was confused but answered honestly, "Arthur Miller."

"Sure enough," Hank nodded.

Mary thought to herself, "Wait a minute. Why are they asking about my father? Do they actually know him?"

Seeing a silver lining, the woman stepped forward and grabbed Mike by his arm, asking, "Do you know my father?"

The turtleneck dress served as a foil to the woman's smooth and pale face, which was giving off a light luster.

Mike looked down at the woman's hand.

Mary thought she might be overthinking, let go of his hand, and took a step back, with blue yet bright light in her eyes.

Mike turned and left.

Hank said to the woman, "Miss Miller, please go inside. It's time for breakfast."

Mary was so hungry that when a maid served her a sandwich, she quickly ate it up.

In the meantime, Hank was searching for information about the woman at the request of Mike in another room.

He quickly collected some basics of Mary and read it out to his boss, "Mary Miller, 22 years old, graduated from City University. Since she was ten years old, she has been raised in his uncle's family. Her uncle is nice to her. Though her aunt dislikes her, she hasn't mistreated her from what I've learned. Plus, it seems that she has never been in a romantic relationship," Hank revealed a smile and then continued, "Which you may tell from last night. Most importantly, she is indeed Arthur Miller's daughter."
