Chapter 5 Give Me a Price

"Alice —"

A sweet low voice came into everyone's ears.

Mrs. Reed opened her eyes wide.

Eric Bush was also dumbfounded.

Even James couldn't help looking at Stars narrowly. How did she make Alice talk?

Stars didn't know what achievement she had made. She stroked Alice's head and said, "All right, Alice, bye-bye."

Actually, she guessed they wouldn't meet again.

She recognized the brand of James's black car. It was worth over one million yuan...

Tut-tut!

She didn't belong to their world.

Alice watched Stars leave, her eyes filled with sadness.

James lifted her to his chest and asked, "Do you like her very much?"

Alice nodded, honestly.

It was her first time to show her fondness of a person. According to the doctor, it was the first sign of getting better when an autistic child became interested in the outside world.

James stared at Stars's back, narrowing his eyes like a hunter.

Stars went back to work.

She currently served as a martial-art stand-in for Lucy Mill, a popular actress in costume dramas. In other words, she was a walk-on who couldn't show her face.

At this moment, she was holding her aching stomach. If she had been more careful, she could have parried Kitty's kick easily.

The more she thought about it, the angrier she felt.

Although she didn't find her child, Kitty's and Emma's expressions had confirmed her guess.

Perhaps, it was these two bitches who had killed her child...

"Stars White, why are you so late? Do you want your job or not?"

The man who spoke was the head of the stands-in. She greeted, "Mr. Moore."

"Your play has changed. Read it now." Dunn Moore stuffed a piece of paper into her hand.

"I see."

Such a thing was normal in this industry, and she had been used to it. But after scanning through the paper, she found her play was utterly changed!

She should have been the one to fight, but now she became the one to be bullied!

The play was divided into different ranks. It was the worst to play the part of the weak beaten by others. No one wanted to take this role because it was the most dangerous.

Stars stepped forward. "Mr. Moore, this is not my part!"

In theory, the worst part should be given to newcomers.

Mr. Moore gave her a smirk. "You're not satisfied with this? I can't help you. Lily is meeker than you. But if you give me a price and do that with me, I can then return your part to you."

Pah!

As Stars crumpled the paper, there was a cracking noise of the joints in her fist! Asshole!

She didn't notice that, at this moment, two big eyes were fixed on her every move.

Alice was squatting next to the railing on the second floor of an antiqued restaurant. Her face was pressed against two steel bars, and her eyes were following Stars's figure.

Mrs. Reed was preparing refreshments for Alice and her mother, Lucy Mill, who would come and stay briefly after filming.

To be honest, Alice was indifferent to Lucy. But Mrs. Murphy, James Green's mother, insisted that the child have more contact with her mother, which might help open her heart.

Now that Lucy was busy, Mrs. Reed was responsible for taking Alice to meet her twice a week.

This time, the meeting place was in the movie city.

"Little princess, what are you looking at?" Mrs. Reed walked at Alice, who had been squatting long there. Is the little princess watching her mother's acting?

When Mrs. Reed looked down from the railing, she spotted the woman called Stars White, who she had met earlier this day.

So that woman was also an actress! What a coincidence!

Just then, Stars was fighting against a man. But soon, she was beaten onto the ground helplessly.

Mrs. Reed could tell that Stars was really good at martial arts. Such a woman was rare these days.

Seeing that Stars was bullied, Alice rose anxiously and pattered down the stairs with her short legs!

She was going to save Stars!

"Little princess, where are you going?" Mrs. Reed turned around and followed up hastily. She didn't dare to lose Alice again.

James was just about to go upstairs. "Where is Alice going?"

"Sir," Mrs. Reed explained hurriedly, "I don't know. But the little princess saw that woman again, so I guess she's going to her side."

Stars White?

Alice treated her so differently. He turned around and followed Mrs. Reed to see what was going on.

Stars hadn't expected to see Alice here. What a coincidence that they had met twice in a day!

And somehow, Alice rushed over to protect her!

Stars's heart was in her mouth as she saw her beefy opponent's leg sweeping over unstoppably!

The consequence would be unimaginable if he kicked down Alice!

Without hesitation, Stars made a tumble and protected Alice under her arms. At the same time, the heavy kick landed on her back!

"Ah!" Stars groaned with pain. Then, she felt a blackout and fainted directly.

...

Stars thought she couldn't be more unlucky today. A blessed person wouldn't faint twice in one day!

When she opened her eyes, she saw a white ceiling and smelt a familiar smell. Without any doubt, she was in the hospital.

As she sat up, she saw an elegant man at her bedside.

An expensive suit flattered his V-taper figure, which was much better than many male models'. All the buttons on his shirt were meticulously buttoned, showing his great charm of strict type.

Clearly, this was not a plateau, but Stars felt so breathless in front of him.

She remembered this face. It was Alice's father.

"Give me a price," James said.

How did she make Alice save her? She's so amazing!

Stars was confused. Give a price?

James thought he hadn't made it clear enough and explained, "How much do you want to do it?"

"Give you a price? Do it?" Stars repeated the keywords and gnashed her teeth.

It reminded her of Dunn Moore's insulting words: If you give me a price and do that with me...

Why were men so disgusting?

She threw a pillow at James fiercely. "You asshole!"

He tilted his head quickly to dodge the hit. Then, his face fell evidently.

"Hee!"

A childish giggle sounded.

Stars looked for the source of the laughter and then saw Alice and her wet nurse.

As Alice smiled brightly, there was a deep dimple on her right cheek. Stars also had only one dimple.

She waved her hand to Alice.

Alice toddled to Stars and threw herself into her arms. Her red eyes suggested that she had cried just now.

Stars stroked Alice's hair, which was as soft as hers. "Don't worry. I'm all right. Did you think I was beaten just now? It was just part of the acting."

James gazed at Stars.

Her voice was somewhat husky. It was not a sweet one.

Neither was it an unpleasant one. Instead, it aroused his curiosity about what she had experienced.

Besides, he hadn't expected a woman who was violent to him to be so gentle to a kid.
